The Hollows striped down single “Stone Cold” sounds like a completely
different band; like The Jam turning
into Hank Williams. The bucolic vocal
gives it an old school country feel. “Stone Cold” is structurally solid, which is a requirement for a
country song. The Hollows sound
alien compared to the mod rock stuff I have heard from them. I honestly do not
know what direction this group is going. However, they are better wading in the
unknown than the well-trodden paths.
